First your computer thinks this is Jan 14 1980, fix your clock.

Second the problem is probably just the screen adjustment, turn it up 
till you see faint retrace lines then back it off just to the point 
where the retrace lines cannot be seen. Too high it will shut down and 
too low it will shut down.
