I'd be leaning more toward the hi voltage capacitors connected to the HOT's collector, if the flyback rang good. Get your nose down to the core of the IHVT and take a deep smell, if it has a burned plastic or ozone smell to it, even if its turned off, then I'd reconsider. I am 100% positive the flyback is bad. But it takes about 5 minutes playing time to short the HOT. The HOT is not even hot like they normally are when they short. My question is, Is the flyback failing under load? It must be! (I tested it with my Sencore ringer and tested the diodes and their output and compared the output voltage with a new one--both tested good!). > > Second question: Where can I get a flyback other than Panasonic? I checked Main and Global here in Canada with no luck. > > Kevin Wilks > Kevin's TV and Video Repair > Penticton BC Canada > kevinstv@xxxxxxx > > > ------------------------------------------ > To REMOVE your email address, click here: > http://www.tech-assist.org/unsubb.html > To CHANGE your email address, click here: > http://www.techassist.net/forms/change.html > ------------------------------------------ > ***NEW*** Tips Added Instantly!!!*** > Submit Repair Tips here: > http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/ > ------------------------------------------ To REMOVE your email address, click here: http://www.tech-assist.org/unsubb.html To CHANGE your email address, click here: http://www.techassist.net/forms/change.html ------------------------------------------ ***NEW*** Tips Added Instantly!!!*** Submit Repair Tips here: http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/
