Usually in these , residual coolant gets under the micro , the EPROM and the
connector next to the EPROM for the chipper check.

Always remove all 3 of these and clean under them and the pins of the parts.

Use a socket for the EPROM.

You old EPROM may be OK , just removing it solved your problem but cleaning
the old one and reinstalling may save the reprogramming procedure
