Here is the notes from last A32B43W. --------------------------------------------------------------- Text pasted from WinSTIPS 2.0 http://www.ServiceSoftware.com --------------------------------------------------------------- ZENITH A32B43W Dead : Shut Down With A Burning Odor Jeff Stielau : 10/12/05 : Shoreline Electronics Repair Hv Disc Caps Located Across The Hot Shorted & Burnt. Locations Cx3220 , Cx3222 & Cx3231. All Of These Are Parallel Across Each Other. Zenith Uses Several Combinations Of Caps On Their Chassis , I Guess Depending On Their Stock At The Time. This 32" Model Had Two .001uf 2kv = 1000pf = 102k Caps Installed In Two Of These Locations. --------------------------------------------------------------- Being these are in parallel , the end result is 2000pf or .002uf Now looking at the Sam 4195 , the show .001 and (560pf) in parenthesis under them. I wonder how critical the value of this cumulative capped area is. I know a total of 2000pf will do the job but how about 3 of the 560pf instead for a total of 1680pf? Or two 560pf and a 1000pf for a total of 2120pf. Maybe they put the 3 locations there depending on what in stock? Although the one I have seen only had the two 1000pf cap installed.....from what I gather....cause 1 of them is typically incinerated. But the two 1000pf worked perfect. That's my theory...... ========================== Jeff Stielau Shoreline Electronics Repair 344 East Main Street Clinton,CT 06413 860-399-1861 860-664-3535 (fax) jstielau@xxxxxxxx ======================== ----- Original Message ----- From: "Leonard Caillouet" <lcaillo@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, December 09, 2005 10:31 AM Subject: [TechAssist] Re: Need burned cap I/D Zenith BA36A24 Zen # ? >I have a Zenith A32B43W on the bench now with the output caps burned. >There > are three locations, CX3220, CX3221, & CX3222, all in parallel across the > collector and what appears to be ground.
