I can try that but I'm doubtful C926 in this set is not the same cap as the ones that fail, it is in a diffrent location and is a difrent value, size, and color - the one that I tested was reading the proper capacitace out of circuit on a BK capacitace meter. Every JVC that I've seen with C926 bad the cap has been brown and the top of the cap has been raised and poped, leaked etc and none of them ever tested good, Also All of the sets that I've seen with C926 bad have been 1998 production this is 1996. It appears that the micro is keeping the set shutdown. Pin 52 has 3.3V that is turning on Q927 that also feeds Q542 and turns on Q926 (base has 5V) that is keeping the volatge on PC901 at 0v pulling one pin of Q927 brings the voltage up to 13V and the relay clicks on to other side of pc901 only goes to 0.8V. B+ is then 147V (same at collector of HOT) but there is no HV, or ossilaton of the Horizontal. I am tempted to order another regulator But I am getting volatge on the otherside of the SW mode transormer which means it is running. The voltages and waveforms aren't right but that may be a symptom of it not running. I checked the caps in the regulator circuit and they test ok. I am comming up at a loss for this one It isn't giving up any usefull secrets and this circuit is too convoluted to bypass easily. Does anywhere do depot repairs on this chassis? Customer said went to turn on in the moring and it would not come on. At present if the power is depressed the LED comes on for a moment and a faint single click is heard but there is no Degauss action, and no attempt apparent to start. The relays have 11.8 V to them but are not swithced on. There is standby 5V to the front panel. PC901 only has 1.1V on the secondary side, the other opto-Isolator has 5V. The main regulator A STRS5708 appears to be oscilating. IC101 in only has 0.5V. Checked for C926, and tested C928, C911,C921, C534, Unsoddered Vertical IC No start, Unsoddered HOT Collector no start, Rang FBT ok, Unsoddered Audio IC no start. Q926 does not test well (open ?) on a ohm meter diode test in circuit (It is a surface mount but I don't know number so I can't say if it has an internal resistor) Unsoddered main tuner Clock and data no start. This set does not have an SE series error amp that I can find.
