Hi Jim, The problem was simpler then that, I discovered an intermittent flat cable which goes from the video head to the PCB. While taking the VCR apart a white nylon lever-looking part fell out from the bottom left side underneath the cassette loading tray, also a small round plastic spacer fell out, not sure where it all fits back together. So I need a mechanical diagram on this VCR, I did apply at Hitachi for service manual access but its going to take 2-3 days, customer would like this back for the weekend. If anyone has the time to download and send this to me I'd appreciate it.
