[TechAssist] Hitachi 27CX75B, venetian blinds, shuts down

This set comes on with a good picture, but after 20 seconds the picture
gets broken up with horizontal lines (severe Venetian blind effect) and
then the set goes into shut down.  After a few minutes with the set
unplugged I can then plug the set back in and it will come on again with
the same symptoms.  Any tips on this 7 year old set?  Thanks.
