This set is driving us crazy - it came in because vertical would pull in
after the set was warm. We also observed that after running a while, the =
on
screen display would break up into "hash", sprayed across the screen, =
and
sometimes the sound would go all the way up. When the sound would go =
wild,
we would loose control of the set through the front buttons until the =
set
was unplugged or cooled down.

I replaced the microprocessor and it ran for three days only. My father =
has
been heating and cooling (and replacing) other parts in the micro area, =
such
as the eprom and the combo filter chip. Still, heating and cooling =
almost
anything in that area causes the problems to come and go.

I discovered that heating and cooling from the bottom of the board also
affects things, but I haven't been able to isolate it to a single part.
Everything has been resoldered. There are not any glue deposits under =
there
that we can see.

Has anyone experienced this with one of these before? Thanks,
