With Roberts tip to check all semiconductors in the P/S, I found that CR14105 (1k ohms), U14102 (300 ohms) and U14101 (55 ohms) were all partially shorted in the P/S. I don't know why they shorted, but at least it is repaired now. Kevin Wilks Kevin's TV & Video Repair Penticton BC Canada kevintv@xxxxxxx The original problem was the set would change channels by itself and could not be turned off. After it was unplugged for 3-4 hours then the set would work normally. Now it is dead, with a strange chirping sound coming from the P/S. The B+ with the HOT disconnected is 49 volts and the 3 voltages on the eeprom are 1.5 volts instead of 5 volts. It seems that I have a P/S problem as all my voltages are low by about 70%. I also disconnected the gemstar with the same voltage readings. What can I check next? Thanks.
