This was dead. Over near the flyback area on a heat sink I found shorted
FET Q401: FS3KM18A. The 18 amp version of the FS3KM fet's. NTE crosses
it to their NTE2387 which is only 16A rated.
I also found a bulged cap, C334 (100mfd@250V). Replaced both parts (used
an NTE2387).
Unit powers on with normal display (a bit off center), and I can press
menu, get the OSD, push button to select any function (size, centering,
geometry, color drive, language, etc) but I cannot adjust anything.Nothing
indicates it's doing something. No bars or numbers,no movement when the
+,- is pressed,etc to make a change.
I individually checked each tactile switch (OK) and very closely
inspected for cracks (none)
I wonder if the eeprom got corrupted when it went down.
Is there a way to access the service menu, of at least reset it?
Any other suggestions?
So close...
Phil Bader
