[TechAssist] CTC188 chassis 35" RCA goes off, later on by itself

Assisting a tech friend making a service call on this in next town over.
All info he can get is the chassis, CTC188, about a 35" RCA.
Will be watching, and set turns off. later in the middle of the night,
it may turn back on again.
On similar models, we've seen bad tactile front switches, and
othertimes, solder cracks in the horiz drive ckts will kill the set, and
is actually still on, so later it makes connection and the set starts
working. It didn't turn on, it was always in an on state, just dead.
Do these CTC188's have this history?
