[TechAssist] Blaupunkt FM/AM/CD/MP3 model MP3000 - display reads "Comm Error".

Hi members,
This car stereo will not play a CD. (AM. & FM work OK).
It will load and eject OK, but when it tries to read the CD, it displays an
error code, that says "Communication Error".
I cleaned some contamination from the PC board, but it was near the output
IC, so I don't think it had anything to do with the problem. I also cleaned
the objective lens,...but,...NO change.
I don't normally work on these things,...but,...business is slow,...so,....
Any help is appreciated.
