Set came in dead(lightning) I have done this repair a couple of times and
posted it to this forum, my personal data base crashed and I have had to start
over. I found the usual Q601 short, Q604 short, also found D603 short, Q635
open, the HOT Q403 was good. After replacing these along with the coupler I
pluged in set to check secondary voltages, oopps. At plug in relay throws and
HOT instantly shorts, all components replaced in primary still check good. I
began to do cold checks on the secondary and found the following diodes with
low ohmage readings in circuit D489(in other sets this was D1901 I think), D311
and D312 these all check normal when removed from chasis in chasis reading
between 150 to 250 ohms.
I checked all the diodes in the area of the IHVT and they check good in
circuit. Sure could use a helping hand here. Thanks Terry
