As Adam explained to us all before the Milwaukee Regional..... there are
three ways to qualify for internationals...... Win a regional or win the
Chairman's Award or the runner up to the Chairman's Award which I don't
remember the name of (Innovation Award maybe?!?!)

So there is a 2/3 chance we could qualify for internationals in the future
based on our outreach in our community. Our team has chosen to focus our
outreach on developing and enhancing STEM (science, technology, engineering
and math) activities in our community. When I spoke with the FIRST staff
members at the Milwaukee Regional they were excited about our choice to
focus on STEM events but wanted to know just how many kids/ people we had
impacted outside of our team members....... here's our chance to impact
possibly hundreds of students and families by supporting the first ever
Rockford SeaPerch City Wide Competition! (SeaPerch is an underwater
robotics remotely operated vehicle. It's WAY COOL!!!! just ask Shayne!)

Date: Saturday April 21, 2012
Time: 8 am - 1 pm
Location: Jefferson High School Pool
We will need some students to be in the pool to help reset the underwater
obstacles and assist any "stuck" SeaPerch ROVs. Other students and mentors
will be needed to time, announce, enter scores into the computer, determine
team placement, referee, judge poster projects, etc!

Please email me at chris.magee@xxxxxxxxxx if you are able to help out!

Thanks!!!!!
