Hey, to JAMES AND ALL TCC MEMBERS! I have a deal for you, I want to show up at
a launch way bad, AND I got to thinking about your club upgrades and needs! I
read an update message your working on for club equipment and such. So happens
I own an ex ARMY-TSA Ambulance, it has a great P. A. SYSTEM, is desert friendly
and it's low mileage, 38,478 miles on it right now, and it was built in Florida
at Whalen industrys, it was sent to Bahgrain airbase and some how made it to
HICKAM AIRBASE IN Hawaii! So it's got a little Homer Hickum in its blood, which
I think is cool! I would like to finish fixing it up just for launch duty! All
but a couple of lights work on it, an EMT friend I have here is saving me up
some parts for it and I've got it about ready for a Spiffy paint scheme and
wish I could get help finishing it in time for spring early summer launches! It
has a heavy stage 3 tow package and pretty much everything is intact and still
works. I wanted to cut the side out of it and install a 46" Sony Bravia TV in
the side on a swivel that let's it be turned to the outside and back inside
when on the road, I think it would make a great mobile launch and radio gear
transport for emergency and flight line master safety Central communications
and command unit capable of several Cool uses including TV CLOSED CC CENTER
THAT SPECTATORS COULD WATCH LIVE STREAMS FROM BIG ROCKET LAUNCHES AND GPS
TRACKING AND RECOVERY IF CALLED ON! IS THIS AN IDEA YOU GUYS WOULD BE
INTERESTED IN. LOTS OF ROOM AND STORAGE OF ELECTRONIC GEAR ETC. PLEASE SHARE
ME YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS! ALSO I HAVE A 4-5.5 HONEST JOHN FROM MAD COW, A 3" RW
TOMAHAWK, A 5.5 RW SUPERSCALE NIKE SMOKE, AND ONE OF JACK G.s Nike smoke, and a
MADCOW 4" BLACK BRANDT TWO WITH RW NOSE CONE UPGRADE AND A TRICK RECOVERY
SYSTEM. LOW ON FUNDS AND WANT TO FLY WITH YOU ALL BEFORE I LEAVE THE WEST COAST
OR THIS WORLD ( I'M GETTING OLD AND MY TICKER IS AN ISSUE!)
IF ANY OF THIS PEAKS YOUR INTEREST AND ARE WILLING TO HELP ME GET THRU LEVEL
TWO AND ON TO THREE BEFORE THE SUMMER IS GONE, I'D BE SO DELIGHTED I WOULDN'T
KNOW WHAT TO DO! THIS HAS BEEN MY GOAL FOR MANY MANY YRS. I would like to be
involved, just spectators if nothing else would tickle me blue, not pink thanks
anyway, to make this happen! I'm old school, computers and this damn smart
phone gives me much too much trouble most of the time but learning so very
slowly. I passed electronics class back in high school, built an stereo tube
amp. And a Helium Neon laser all transistor and tube technology. The laser
could pop baloons! Can't remember it's wattage out put but it worked real good
for a while.
Wanted to learn more about electronics and enrolled it DeVRY in
K.C.Mo<http://K.C.Mo>. and it sucked because of no housing and a couple other
issues the school did not do what they said they would for me, grant money came
to late etc.and I was a single dad with my son and a litter of DOBERMAN PUPS MY
DOG NATASHA HAD WHILE WE WE'RE UP IN NORTHERN MICHIGAN! ANY WAY DIDN'T WORK OUT
AND I WAS OUTA THERE IN THE DEAD OF WINTER! BACK HOME IN KANSAS THING THINGS
WERE NOT MUCH BETTER. I'VE WORKED HARD ALL MY LIFE STARTING IN MY GRANDPARENTS
GARDEN WHEN I WAS 6 YRS. OLD THEN MY GRANDAD PAST AWAY WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO TURN
7 YRS. OLD THE GREATEST LOSS OF MY LIFE, NUFF OF MY HISTORY! JUST SAYIN BEEN
THERE AND DONE MORE THAN MOST WITHOUT AN EDUCATION I STILL WANT TODAY! AND I
WORKED AS AN INSTRUMENT MAKER FOR THE PHYSICS DEPT. AT KANSAS STATE UNVERSITY
WITHOUT ANY COLLEGE DEGREE, MACHINIST WELDER AND POLISHED A LOT OF STAINLESS
STEEL PATRTS FOR THE TANDEM ACCELERATOR IN THE BASEMENT! THEM DARN GERMAN
PROFESSORS KEPT ME REAL BUSY AND I INTURN FELL IN LOVE WITH PARTICLE PHYSICS!
YOU SHOULD BE PAYING REAL CLOSE ATTAETION TO WHATS GOING ON AT CERN! TO DAMN
WEIRD AND REAL SCARY IF YOUR NOT INTO GOD AND JESUS ! JUST SAYIN!!! ANY WAY I
LOVE ROCKETRY AND DAMN NEAR EVERYONE I'VE MET MADE A BIG INFLUENCE ON ME. AND
NOW I'M GROWING OLD AND THE ROAD HAS BEEN MY HOME FOR SOMETIME. I HAVEN'T GIVEN
UP AND I'M STILL AN O.G. WITH MANNERS AND RESPECT FOR ALL, EVEN THE SCREWBALLS
TO SOME DEGREE. I'VE NEVER HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH DRUGS AND ALCOHOL, JUST MY
FRIENDS TOOK ME DOWN AN UNPLEASANT PATH! STILL I GOT FAITH THERE ARE THOSE OF
YOU WHO CAN EMPATHIZE WITH ME. THE WORLD IS DOG EAT DOG AND I GRADUATED FROM
HARD KNOCKS UNIVERSITY AND YES I MADE SOME REAL STUPID DECISIONS.
NOW I WANT TO SHINE A LITTLE BIT ! I GET A KICK OUT OF HELPING OTHERS AND
ESPECIALLY OLDER FOLKS WHO HAVE WAY ROUGHER THAN I AND I PRAY TO JESUS TO KEEP
MY PATH FREE OF ANY MORE OBSTICALS, THE PROBLEM IS I CAN'T DRIVE 55 SO TO SPEAK
AND HAVEN'T THE FINANCES YET TO COMPLETE MY DREAM! GETTING A ROCKET INTO SPACE,
TAKE PICTURES OF THE UFO'S zooming around the space station and other wierd
things the government deems we're not ready for, whether they are aliens or
demons is my question and would love to knock on their door up there at least!
Some Rocket nuts like myself would do anything to do this for our countrymen
and family's who want to know what the hell they really are because their
definitely real and getting way prolific all over the world! I would think this
would be an ultimate project worthy of all of us in TRA and Pacific Coast
Rocket clubs! Well that's my dream and what I lack in funds I would work my
tail off for all you fellows and ready to locate down your way, NO JOKE! HOPE

- Members, they can post their own content and we can have all sorts of media
and videos to make it fun
- Build articles/forum - that will be there too
Like I said at the Party, all of you folks who take a lot of killer pictures, I
want you all to start posting on the new website and driving traffic to our
site and to facebook; it will get more people out at the launch and drive team
support and revenue. One thing though, if you took pictures at a TCC launch,
post to our site first, when it shows up on the TCC FB Page, you can always
share t to TRA or NAR.
The point is that if you took pictures at our launch, please have the courtesy
to give us credit for it since it will drive revenue to the launch.
New FAA Altitude Waivers
- Like I said, I'm working on getting more Altitude for us - no commitment
yet, but we will see
Prefects
Gary Walker and Bruce Rohn are our Prefect's, they swap turns every year or so,
it is a LOT of work.This year, Bruce is back and will be our Prefect, next year
it will be Gary. I want everyone to give all of these guys a great thank you,
they help everyone get their certs done, run a lot of the launch and handle
technical questions all day, most importantly they keep everyone safe and sane
and keep the launch running.
Special Projects
OO-Nike
This year, we plan to launch "Double-O Nike" - this will be a two-stage 2/3
scale Nike-Nike smoke (a complex P impulse) project which is over 20ft tall and
weighs about 300lbs. It will be powered by a CTI O5100/O4900 and we plan to fly
it at BALLS. Me and Jack G started this project and planned drag races but
never got around to it. Now it is Jack G, me, Scott Y, Rod L, Richard K, Mike
Smith, Bruce,, Gary, Aaron and an everyone else who wants to participate to get
this one flying at BALLS this year. We plan to meet after our next launch at
Rod's and then generally we will meet the 4th weekend of the month (after our
launch) in Fresno to build.
We can discuss more at January launch.
LDRS
Aaron, Rod and I are working on LDRS for 2018, we plan to get everything
together this year and when Aaron gets
the final go on the field, we can move forward.
First launch of 2017
First launch will be 01/21/17 (Saturday) - third weekend of the month for all
of 2017 - if you look at the website above
I have all of the launch dates for 2017 listed on the calendar.
