I've used High Tack for years on the rubber valve cover gaskets for aircooleds 
and other applications, helps hold them in place and fills up those little 
imperfections nicely.  It still allows the seal to move for heat expansion and 
yet you still can take the gasket off without any pain.  Just my $0.02
