We were fortunate to have met Beverly and Allen at the Gene Berg Rally at
Classic one year, they were a lot like Paul- very nice with a wonderful
sense of humor. They told us all kind of stories about them growing up
together. I was always impressed with how humble they were, they had some
nice cars and had been into VW's a long time but they didn't flaunt it, they
were very super cool people.

Allen ,Beverly and Kenny Flentge were 3 very avid Vw
fans , Allen and Bob got me back into the VW hobby
after a long layoff. Allen had a GTI , Jetta , 67
Westy , an oval bug , Bev had a EMPI Sportster, Many
of you on this list know them , ate with them at E.S.
, The Classic in California , and so many other places
, they rarely showed their cars , it just wasn't their
style , Kenny had a nice 62 bug, Allen and Beverly
never got the westy finished , they instead put my
truck in front of them at the body shop saying I had
been through enough trouble with body men already ,
They used to teas e me about them creating a monster
by having the Zone finished and theirs not . But again
that's the type folks they were . Lois and I almost
always ate supper with them on Fri. Night , Allen
Kenny and I almost always ate breakfast at Kevin's
restraint on Sat .morning . That Sat morning Allen and
Kenny went to pick up Beverly and go to the Bell
county expo center where Kenny had his 62 Impala in a
show. I went to work at 2:00 . at 5: p.m. I got a call
that some folks in a bug had gotten murdered by a guy
in a Jeep , passed 6 cars in a no passing zone and hit
them head on . The crash was in Allen's side ditch
,the guy swerved to the shoulder and killed the jeep
driver and his Friend , and murdered Allen ,Beverly
and Kenny Flentge. The mother of the one boy was
letting him drink beer at the beer joint across from
the cemetery at 195 and state 95 near Heidenhiemer .
Up on the hill by the barbed wire fence are three
metal crosses and a Bus n Bugtober fest t shirt hung
over the crosses.
