Yep: That's the spot. I don't think they leak really. I call it weep. Oil just seems to seep around the crank case and the oil plate. I tried the Hylomar once and it didn't ooze a drop between oil changes. The next time I didn't use it and back to weeping oil. Last time I changed oil I tried Hylomar again. and again no leaking. I've got it on there right now, have put about 1,500 miles on this oil change and it has been sitting in the garage over a clean floor for about 2 months now and not a sign of any oil around the plate. Hylomar is sort of expensive (about $7-$8 for a small tube) and it is blue and rather sticky. I put a bead around both sides of each gasket when I am putting the screen and plate back on. It also worked on the bottom plate on the steering sector box on my bus which had been leaking badly. Anyway, Sammy, did you say once that you used hylomar around the screen and it stopped leaking there. Are you talking about the disk that hold the oil drain plug? The one with all the brass bolts? I am being specific because I don’t know many engines that don’t leak there. If it does I’ll start using it.
