So, ya know what will happen= the bus(Murray) is running great right now,
but is overdue for maintenance. I'll take at least a day and change the oil,
adjust the valves, gap the points, set the timing, maybe find the time to
rebuild the carburetors, and when I'm done... it won't start and I'll have
to screw with it for two days just to get it back to running well.

If you drive your VW with no maintenance, it will die. But if you tinker
with it...

  > Not sure about the ignition problem but your starting problem may come
from having the float levels set to high. the fuel tank sits higher than the
carbs and they will gravity feed the carbs causing them to flood. Don't like
electronic ignitions. If VW was suppose to have them, they would have come
with them. Just my opinion---The Vanagon Guy
