I bet if the Chamber of Commerce knew about this conflict they would be 100% behind the show going on. And at that point you would have the Mayor on your side.

They basically have new management and we knew we would have problems. The golf people don't really like us being there. The police said they have no proof it was our group that did anything and everything we know is here say. So they came back with the fact that we have outgrown the area and basically its true. Camping was all over the place and we had a difficult time getting them to move and centrally locate. They have told us we could come back one more year but with a list of new rules to follow and lots of expensive security. We are looking into moving it to a larger facility in Austin, it will be different though and some people prob won't like it much. Camping is prob going to be on your own, its just too much liability and its not even offered at most venues. We might switch to a rally like the Gene Burg one too with prizes at the end and dinner on Sat. night. The only other option in Fredericksburg is the County Fairgrounds, its big and actually cheaper, also has no camping. Personally I think we have worn out our welcome in Fredericksburg and I would rather not return at all. They said they issued 16 tickets Friday night 14 of them went to VW drivers. Are we being targeted or stupid? Who knows.

From talking to Steve, I think the biggest problem is that the golfers have to drive through us riff-raff to get to the course. They hate us.

Sharon: Can someone tell us what the problem was? All I know is what Steve said about the "cat litter" in the golf holes, and that story didn't make a "hole" lot of sense. I am an avid golfer and understand golf courses, golf course management and golf course vandalism. That story was a bunch of "hooey." Other than that, most of us are totally in the dark. And I didn't see any of the problems this year that we had some of in the past. Basically, I don't understand what problems were encountered and guess would like some explanation.

The Aircoolers are good people, we all love them- we really do.

I apologize to all for getting upset and blaming anyone, its our fault we should have had more security, we won't make that mistake again.

We are lucky to call all of you our friends and after losing Larry this year we realize just how much you all mean to us.

They have offered to let TX VW Classic return one more year to Lady Bird Municipal Park and thats it we will have to move..they claim we have outgrown them. Maybe we have.

We could get Gillespie County Fairgrounds on the other side of the airport there but it is flat, no trees, no camping. Bigger though.

We may go ahead and move it, we're looking for another site now, if anyone has any suggestions around or in Austin please email them to us. Need a place that will hold at least 500 cars. Camping will prob be our problem in Austin but there are a lot of state parks around and some private RV places like Eureka Springs I guess.

Need to make a decision quick so we can get our reservations.

I could really use your help in getting good people up here so that the event isn’t just Aircoolers. I love them, I really do. Mike Fraz ier and Bodean, Robb, I would trust with everything, but I ‘d like t o see Dennis and Claudia, the Cananzas, Allan Riggs, you know who I mean. So, if you don’t mind stick your selves out there.

Chuck tells me that the fireworks demo is next weekend. Yikes! We have to decide if enough people will come to PB to pay for it. Mike Hayes is again the treasurer of the event this year unless someone else wants to step up.

I don’t know how many of you are aware that we are rehabbing the hou se right behind the shop. A real adult house with a kitchen and a ba throom with a tub and shower. That means that we will have 5 working toilets and 5 showers and 3 new bedrooms for our non camping friends.

I still don’t know yet, but we are working on letting the Fire Depar tment burn one of our houses down for the 4th of July. There are a w hole bunch of “maybes” involved, but, who knows?

The 4th is on Sunday this year, so we will have the fireworks and all on Saturday, the 3rd.

So, who all?
