Yes, still need the mat. My bus is running but I don't think I will be at any
shows before the Classic. If you meet up with Peter or any of the San Antonio
crowd feel free to do a hand off. I appreciate you holding on to the stuff for
me.

As far as the trip you could do it in the bus - no problem. Just make sure
everything is tuned well and carry lots of extra parts. Whatever you carry
with you will not break. Take the back roads not the interstate and ENJOY
YOURSELF, that is the key. I can't wait till my new bus is ready for a road
trip.

Yes, but you are young! And Dan, do you still want the front bus mat? Also,
I still have your front bus clip. Talked to Peter and he said he might be
coming to the Nac show. If either of you are you can make arrangements to pick
them up. If not, maybe we can make arrangements to bring them to the Tx
Classic in April.

In 2002 I drove my Binz from the East Coast of Florida out to the (CA)
Classic, then up to Seattle, then back home to Florida. I did it all in like
three weeks. Was around 6,000 miles. Only problem I had was breaking rocker
arm washers. I switched to solid rocker shafts after I got back. It was a
great trip.

OK, that article has some element of encouragement, for I too am thinking
of a road trip. No trailer, just taking the Denis "Trip-of-a-lifetime." The
CA Bug-In is Sunday April 6. From April 7 to 11 there is the ultimate in VW
cruises up the Pacific Coast Highway from LA to San Francisco visiting such
places as Pismo Beach, Big Sur and Morrow Bay and returning to Ventura for the
VW Treffen X on Saturday April 12. Sort of along the way I need to make a side
trip to Durango CO. The entire trip would be approximately 4,500 miles. And
no, not in a VW bus, but in the Baja. Should I do it? Well, I am thinking
about it strongly but not sure I want to attempt it or not.

If you are interested in looking at the itinerary for this amazing
once-in-a-lifetime VW cruise go to Airhead Parts web site and look it up
www.airheadparts.com You can also see some details on page 35 of the April
issue of Hot VWs.
