Good idea. I  was also thinking of setting it on the pan, install the foors and 
go from there before any major change.

Photos and posting is much easier.

Hey Duncan, I would strongly consider getting some good photos of the rear 
rocker to rear body area (the gap area) and post it to the Samba in the Ghia 
section if the forum.
There might be another piece that I missing that would take up the gap.  The 
rocker section look good, and lifting the back section of the body might cause 
the doors not to line up.
I'd get an expert second from the Ghia gods for sure before moving the rear of 
the car up.

Got the leftside inner rocker panel welded on today.

And the sway bar is now installed properly with much thanks to Eric.

Step by step, inch by inch...plan to complete the heater channel and rocker 
panel tomorrow.
