I'll tell ya, the cushions in my '79 are alarmingly firm the first time you try sleeping on them too. I considered memory foam, but the amount of space it would take up when not in use was out of the question. So what I did was buy little throw pillows every time I saw one that matched my bus. I swear, just a few propping you up hear & there fixes the problem. And then, when the beds are all folded up, the pillows can be scattered anywhere and they will never be in the way. Pillows are like Jello. There's always room for Jello. ________________________________ From: Eric Woodall <ericthomaswoodall@xxxxxxx> To: TCB <tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wed, June 1, 2011 7:42:59 AM Subject: [tcb] Hard Cushions Gang, We just returned from an awesome weeklong Westy trip to Lake Buchanan. Everything went flawlessly and we have gotten a list of things together that we need to do in order to make our Westy camping the best it can be. One thing that we noticed, which we really never did on shorter trips, is how hard the cushions are in a late Vanagon Westy. I see two options as a remedy. Either bring a roll-up memory foam or have the stock cushions replaced with softer foam. Has any of you done this? P.S. - were any of you camping at Ink's Lake this weekend?
