STEM Night
Volunteers from TAS are needed in Covington at the Crestwood Elementary School
STEM Night Thursday, March 16th from 5-7pm
Volunteers will join with other STEM focused organizations to share the
excitement and adventure of space, eclipses and astronomy with Crestwood
students, parents and families.
Date: Thursday, 3/16/2017
Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Location: Crestwood Elementary School, 25225 180th Ave SE, Covington, WA
Setup Time: 4:30 PM
The following volunteers are needed:
Volunteers (2) are needed at the display table to talk about star gazing, to
demonstrate charts and equipment and to hand out free materials, to talk about
preserving the darkness of the night sky.
Volunteers (2) are needed to explain the Aug 21 Total Solar Eclipse.
Volunteers (2) with telescopes that can be available for outdoor viewing of the
sky (and landmarks during the daylight hours) and any visible stars weather
permitting. If weather is inclement, telescopes can be set up inside to
demonstrate use of the telescope by a static display.
Expected age groups: 200
