Hi Alistair. Well the strange thing is, it used to! Up until around 3/4
months ago I had no problem, then when I couldn't get the BBC stations anymore,
I thought it was something to do with their end, so just left it, as I
exclusively listened to BBC 5 live and 5 live extra. Then a while ago I found
a website that lists the BBC stations and when you open them up with the
wireless lan connection, it asks you if you want to save the station, so I do.
Everything works via the wireless connection, but try via Vodafone WAP and
contract internet and no go I'm afraid!

I'm wondering if it's anything to do with my provider? I'd love to get it
sorted, but it looks as if it's going to stay a mystery, cheers Steve.

  Hi Steve,

Hope you do not mind but just thought I would mention that on my N86 my
connection issues for streaming are the opposite of yours, that it will not
allow streaming via WLAN! Despite changing the settings! Yet it will happily do
so when using Orange internet. don't you just love technology!

Hi Steve, yes, I've changed things there. I have a choice between contract
internet, Vodafone WAP and my wireless lan. The only 1 it will connect with is
the wireless lan setting, cheers Steve.

      Hi Steve,

Are you changing the setting for the network connection in Realplayer?
This needs to be done separately, in Options, Settings.

      All the best

      Steve

Subject: [talks-uk] N85 and streaming media settings?

Hi listers. I've had a problem regarding streaming media on my N85 for a
while now...and I've decided to come back to it and try and sort it out. In
Real Player I'm unable to stream anything, as talks just says "connecting" or
"unable to connect". I've tried changing the network connection to contract
internet and Vodafone WAP without any difference. I am however able to stream
via my wireless lan. The only settings other than network are UDP port
numbers, which are lowest 6970 and highest 32000. So, does anyone know how I
can resolve this problem? BTW, the web works fine, it's only the streaming
side of things. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I was able to
stream OK a few months ago and I'm positive I haven't changed anything I
shouldn't, cheers Steve.
