Thanks, Adam, for posting the News Release. What I'd like everyone to be aware of also is this: Not everyone sees these news releases. They are not automatically emailed to everyone, and are not up on the StarMetro page. In fact, this new schedule will only be published ON THE INTERNET "by 6pm on Sunday, July 31"-- apparently there will be no printed material with the specifics handed or available to customers UNTIL MONDAY MORNING!! And even then, my understanding is that the fliers will only be distributed on the routes effected-- so if that's not your first bus... guess you'll be reading about the changes while you're standing on the side of the road somewhere... We all know a large percentage of bus riders do not have internet access at home. If a service you used-- not optionally, but to maintain your employment-- was changed without notice, wouldn't you be upset?? Please COMPLAIN, if not for the changes to a bus system you may or may not use, then for the injustice of jerking people around. Let's hope they would never pull something like this with other city services... In fact, let's make certain they don't!! Delores Downy is a Citizen Advocate for the Mayor and City Commission. She may be reached after 9am at 891-8200. While the Mayor and City Commission are "on break" until August 15th, they apparently DO check in. Hopefully the volume of messages on their desks will compel them to act positively. You may also contact M'LIsa Ingram at MLisa.Ingram@xxxxxxxxxx or 891-8179; she will return to the office Tuesday, August 2.
