----- Forwarded Message ----- Sunflower Genealogy Society Meeting Minutes November 15, 2011 Director Maxine Ludeke opened the meeting at 2:00 pm, welcoming members and visitors. There were 26 present. The October 18, 2011, minutes were emailed to each member. Maxine Ludeke asked for corrections or additions. A motion was made by Mike Foreman, second by Al Seames, to accept the minutes as presented. Motion passed. Buzz Brooks gave the financial report. The current bank balance as of November 15, is $375.67. We have 57 members to date. Librarian, Pat Brownson announced Genealogy Library is now ready to have you check out books for your personal use. The cabinet will be open each day, directions for checking out a book is in the cabinet. Please, if you return a book, or take one off the shelf to look through, just put it on the bottom shelf. One of the librarians will put it away. Al Seames told everyone that the mentors have a yellow M on their nametags. He then gave a brief description of what the mentors do. Please call Al to make arrangements for help. Walt Peek introduced his Planning Committee members. This years members are: The Executive Committee, Bob Harvey, Jerry Stelma, and Val Goldner. They have a first meeting set for November 30, 2011. Val Goldner , head of the Nominating Committee, announced the slate of officers for 2012. They are: Director – Maxine Ludeke, Assistant Director – Mike Forman, Secretary – Mary Dietz, and Treasurer – Walt Peek. Val asked for any additions from the floor, hearing none the nominations were closed. Maxine then asked for a motion to accept the slate of officers. Motion to accept was made by Gene Robles, second by Frank Horsfall. Motion passed. Presentation by Maxine Ludeke and Al Seames “Canadian Genealogy”. This presentation will be available on the website. Round Table: Members shared information they had learned this month.
