Hi,
I have dropped the hoover off at the garage this evening and tried it out, it
works well to get the dust out. Was going to do all the boat but the. Noticed
the work you had done Clayton. I have put the key through the door to your
office as can't make it tomorrow. Let me know if anyone is available on
Wednesday afternoon. For an hour or so?

Thanks Andy S, Jannet, Wendy,Sharon Peter,Laura for the work done today. The
light set of oars were dealt with and are drying. I have just dropped off all
the other oars for the same treatment tomorrow. We will order more blue and
grey paint tomorrow if all goes well.
I found a large area of wet rot under the stroke foot position which I have
hacked out leaving several ugly holes. I have checked with Nigel and he
agrees that this is what needs done. We must leave the holes open as long as
possible to dry.
The inside of the boat has been partially sanded which is great. Another good
session or two and the inside will be ready for some paint. To get the
correct finish sanders need to get into the boat and get right into the lower
grooves to get out any flaky paint. Wendy said she may be able to provide a
hoover for the dust.Damp cloths etc are also a good way to lift the standings
to get a clean finish.
I have marked out on the floor of the boat the areas that need to be sanded
largely down to the wood to attach the wear plates for the foot boxes.
As soon as that is done then all showing wood apart from the stroke area
needs to be dobbed with a thin layer of undercoat paint to seal it. When
that is done the seat struts must be removed and the inside painted
completely [not the store area].
Nigel and Martin will sort out the pin holes etc, hopefully at the very
beginning of the week coming.
So tomorrows job is oars and totally sanding out the inside, maybe even a bit
of undercoat. We need thin strips of wood for the wear plates, any ideas?
These are the people who have said they are available to help with the boat.
Have a chat with each other and sort out when you can get down in groups
tomorrow, am,pm,eve.
JuliaNina,John,Barbara, Pam,Toby,Ian,William, Margo,Bryan plus the ones who
were down today.
Feel free to get involved.
