Dear All,

We've been invited by our fellow Fife Coastal Rowing Clubs for a social
row on *Saturday 25th March 10am-2pm* at Lochore Meadows. Further
details are given in the email below.

Rhona and Elsie from Anstruther are keen to receive thoughts and ideas for
this fun day on the water:

a) is our club attending
b) who is co-ordinating for the club (volunteers please - some people are
away)
c) are we taking a skiff?
d) how many members will attend?
e) what activities - sprint races, fun races, slalom races - serious stuff
like regatta preparation, social row and chill
f) who is willing to help co-ordinate / run this event

Primarily - we need to know how many people are interested. Andrew has
kindly agreed to tow but will require assistance. Please let me know your
by *next week Tuesday* whether you are interested in attending this event.

Also keep in mind that this event falls on the Saturday following our '*Rowing
the Waves: Community Development and Coastal rowing in Scotland’* project
launch to be held at the Byre Theatre on Friday 24th, 7-10 pm.

Dear Fife clubs
Further to the idea of having a Fife Social Event we can confirm that we
have made a booking at Lochore Meadows for the visit for* Saturday 25th
March*. We checked it out last weekend and suggest that we gather *10am -
2pm. *

*Lochore facilities:* There is a small café on site which serves cold/hot
drinks and snacks, the cafeteria has a capacity of 20 so we'll be mostly
outside. Because of the number of clubs, Lochore have asked us to pay a
very small fee (£2/adult, £1/U18). In addition to access to the toilets, we
can use the showers/facilities too. Payment is due on the day; for ease
Lochore are fine with each club paying for a number of people (instead of
each individual signing-in and paying!)

Access: Lochore Meadows is easily accessible and there is a large carpark
for cars and trailers, grassy areas and a beach for hanging out on. Skiffs
can be launched off a sandy beach or slipway. See the attached photos
showing us at the beach last weekend (note - only half of the beach can be
landed on).

*What to do?* We've had a few thoughts as to what we might get up to, but
we'd really love to hear what you think would be useful and/or fun! Ideas
we've had are to have fun rowing, slalom races, group picnic, 2017 regatta
prep (?), discuss Fresh Water co-ordination, hanging out on the beach with
social rowing....

Please send your ideas to Rhona/Elsie (EMAIL) by Tuesday 14th March so we
can put together a program for the day. Whilst we are happy to co-ordinate
the day, it'd be great if anyone would offer to manage the great activity
ideas you submit - let us know if you're happy to do so.
