By the way, I'd like to ask something on a completely different topic:
do you or anyone in your group have any knowledge or contacts about
India gathering satellite map data?  I mean, data comparable to that
used by Google Earth to show pictures of the planet.

Google's data is highly proprietary, and one of the things that GNU/FSF
would like to do is develop an alternative free system -- and the data
is the crucial part.  It occurred to us that countries less under
corporate hegemony might be more amenable to putting the data they
collect in the public domain.

By any chance, is this something you might have any information or
contacts to help with?
