[SL] pg_hba and "IDENT authentication failed for user"

Can anyone explain why I get a FATAL: IDENT authentication failed for user
"sql-ledger".
The only active line in my pg_hba.conf is:
"local all all trust".
Im using Mandrake 9.1 and it use to work but I had to re-install for some other
reasons.
P.S Yes - I have restarted postgresql. Yeah rebooted several times... (Old
windows habit)
