Subject: Severe Weather Outbreak This Afternoon & Overnight
Good Afternoon. I know it is cold & raw outside. But there is a very strong warm front across southern Indiana. Right now as of 1pm Indy is 48 with Evansville at 74. This front will move north across Central Indiana this Afternoon into this Evening. This will set the stage for explosive Super-Cell development from 4pm-9pm. As this is occurring we will also see a very strong low pressure system move just north of the St. Louis Area around 8pm. Then it will move to west of Lafayette by 11pm. Super-Cells will be scattered across Central Indiana producing Large Hail, Damaging Winds & Possible Strong Tornadoes. This is a very fluid weather setup that could produce several tornadoes. Line of Super-Cell Storms develop in Central & Southern Illinois. This line will move into the Metro Area between 9pm-3am. This line will produce widespread Damaging Winds, Large Hail & Some Tornadoes. Here are the latest graphics from the Storm Prediction Center in Normal, Oklahoma. It looks like Indiana is in the bull’s-eye for Severe Weather. After looking over the latest computer model data, I would have to agree with SPC that it is a very dangerous weather setup for late afternoon into the overnight. I highly recommended stay tuned to Radio & TV for the latest Watches & Warnings. Let’s hope it stays south and misses the Indy Metro. Take Care!
