Actually all religions are losing followers. I was comparing the rise and fall
of nations with the rise and fall of religious faith, and the current loss of
religious faith along with socialism and communism which replace God with The
State. It's not clear which is the cause and which is the effect.
In the past rulers ruled by Divine Right and were like Gods so if the nation
was failing then so did it's religion. Governments fail when the people lose
faith in them.
Then there's the argument that nations fail because people lose faith in
religion and its moral principles.
I suspect that people who have true religious faith don't really care about the
government because they don't depend on it, and that many people might think
they have religious faith or pretend to have religious faith but they really
don't. They just go along with everybody else.
Our religions are hundred's and thousand's of years old and the age of science
proved that many teachings are not true, such as the world being created in 7
days but I believe that's because the people at that time were trying to
explain things they did not understand and/or that people would not understand.

The Catholic Church is one of the biggest, if not the biggest religious group
on earth,
over one billion world wide. The Priest's oath of celibacy which I read is not
based on
the bible but to prevent their children from inheriting the church;'s wealth,
attracts
gays to be priests but most of whom are not pedophiles. Too bad the Church
protected
too many pedophiles for too long but other religious groups have the same
problem on a
smaller scale. In any event the Catholic Church owned up to it and took steps
to prevent
it happening again. Bottom line, the Catholic Church is not about to crumble
and the
Socialist Pope is very, very popular. with the media and the people except with
our two pip

My wife was just telling me about a popular Costa Rican Reggaeton (Latino hip
hop) artist who has a song entitled "If priests can be pedophiles then why
can't I?" The world is going to Hell.
We seem to be entering into a period of chaos. Order will be restored. I just
wonder what it will look like.
I heard somebody today say that reading the news today is like reading a
history book because events are unfolding so quickly.

The decline of Rome coincided with the collapse in their religious beliefs
during the 3rd century. Once the Emperor Valerian I was captured by the
Persians from Iran in 260 AD, confidence in the survival of the Empire began to
collapse. Other barbarians realized they could invade Rome for it was now weak.
People turned to their gods and prayed, but nothing happened. Christianity
began to spread when the Roman empire and its pagan gods began to fall.
Pope Francis with his communist ideas doesn't seem to understand that
communism replaces his religion. The state becomes God.
Countries become great through a free market and strong religious belief.
Great wealth is created but it is unequally distributed. This leads to revolts
and a collapse. Socialism and communism are just forms of revolt. They end up
achieving their goal of a more equal distribution of wealth but end up only
making everybody equally poor, except for a handful of communist leaders who
now own everything. The communist leaders are skilled in propaganda and
politics but not in much else, which results in the nation's economy
collapsing, and with it the government's power. When that happens the people
become more religious again, like today in the former Soviet Union.
