RR My comment about Jesus was somewhat tongue in cheek. Although Jesus and his followers did practice a communal lifestyle, hence the reference to communism. I certainly agree that socialism is about spending other people's money. And Marx's cynical observation about religion has a lot of truth to it. But one has to separate the wheat from the chaff. As temporal as organized religion's motives might be, there is an underlying premise of spirituality which in turn provides the believers (especially children) a moral code to live by. Or as my wife says, she goes to church for her own purposes, not the church's.
