Site of the Day for Friday, April 1, 2011 PostSecret Today's site, one of the most well-known and popular blogs, created by Frank Warren in 2005, provides a venue for anonymous, "community art" which goes beyond images. Gentle Subscribers will discover an eye-opening exhibition of postcard art embellished with the dark but sometimes light-hearted secrets of its correspondents. "PostSecret is the largest advertisement-free Blog in the world. ... Mail your anonymous secret on a postcard to PostSecret." - from the website The site generally updates each Sunday, with approximately twenty new postcard secrets. From the Kraft Dinner confession -- presumably by a Canadian -- to the college grad who admits to being more concerned with finding someone to be with than finding a job, the featured secrets, combined with their visual impact, can deliver a powerful and stirring personal, yet safely anonymous, statement. Deliberately designed to be viewed weekly, there is no direct way to view the site's archives, although a workaround using Google Reader can be exploited. Cautionary Note: This site may not be suitable for the workplace. Sidle over to Post Secret to view its ephemeral yet compelling gallery at: http://www.postsecret.com/ A.M.
