Not Exactly Rocket Science
Today's site, from science writer and author Ed Yong, offers a fascinating look
at the world of biology in one of National Geographic's science blogs. Gentle
Subscribers will discover absorbing entries accompanied by dazzling
photography, a hallmark of everything published by the Society.
"On the wonders of biology" - from the website
Despite its modest title, this science blog chronicles the latest and hottest
findings on the biology front. Recent stories have covered a wonderfully
diverse range of topics, from parasites to predators. Showcased on the current
opening page are reports on how the male widow spider avoids death during
mating, images from the first filming of "kissing coral" in the wild, and the
latest theory on why crested penguins lay a doomed egg. Additional posts going
back ten years are also available on the Phenomena website, through a link on
the homepage.
