Jackson Pollock
Today's site, by Miltos Manetas, although a thoroughly time-wasting bit of
fun is not without controversy. Gentle Subscribers can ignore the dispute,
however, and simply indulge their creative inclinations to produce art in
the style of one of the most celebrated of twentieth century American
artists, Jackson Pollack.

The site opens to a completely blank page, a canvas for visitors to produce
their own artistic endeavor. Originally developed by the Eric Stamen design
studio as the Flash application "Spatter", it was subsequently adapted
without permission by Miltos Manetas. The Flash program allows the user to
mouse a swirl of colors in random thicknesses, over the "canvas". Colors
are changeable by a left mouse click, while a right click will bring up the
standard Flash context menu, including the option to print a hard copy.
