Hi Heather,

From my experience and reading - no preservative is necessary - lye kills
everything! I've made many batches of soap with avocado, cucumber, aloe
vera gel, dried herbs etc with no adverse affects or DOS. I also think it
depends on the % you use - I use about 5% of the oil total for avocado and
cucumber and sub out water.

Liz

Subject: [soapcraft] Preservatives in Soap

Hi Eveyone

The weekend is nearly upon us again! Yay!

Can anyone tell me please what is a good general preservative to use in soap
when adding odds and bods like aloe vera (from homegrown plants) avocado or
real carrot/beetroot juice and things like that.

Thanks

Heather
