Longer consultations have been related to many positive patient-related quality outcomes (27-29) as well as reduced stress in general practitioners (30, 31), with the strongest effect in GPs who are patient-centred (31). Having sufficient time for consultation (which is closely related with the number of patients a physician sees every day) positively correlates with and is important in preserving doctor's psychological wellbeing.
