We would welcome additional support from the membership by signing the online petition at <http://www.savebbcwildlifefund.net/> www.savebbcwildlifefund.net Kind regards Chris Deaves, BBKA Chair of Education and Husbandry "Save the BBC Wildlife Fund! It is understood that the BBC is intending to close the BBC Wildlife Fund and that the BBC Director General has declared that no further charities are to be created. A campaign to reverse this decision is being co-ordinated by IUCN UK Committee with a letter strongly urging the BBC not to close its Wildlife Fund being sent to the Chair of BBC Trustees, Lord Patten, today 1 August. The loss of this fund in these difficult times would hit invertebrate conservation particularly hard as the trustees of the fund made a special effort to not just support the big and cuddly. An online petition to gather support from individuals, with the aim of achieving 100,000 sign-ups by the 4th August is available at <http://www.savebbcwildlifefund.net/> www.savebbcwildlifefund.net."
