Subject: Possible permissions bug, Slackware 9.1

Greetings,

When trying to change keymaps (from US English to Cyrillic) and failing, I
looked into XFree86 logfile. It contained the following error message:

The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:
> Error: Cannot open "/var/tmp/server-0.xkm" to write keyboard description
> Exiting

Of course, everything works fine under root. Shouldn't the /var/tmp have `1777`
permissions like `/tmp` ?

Thank you for the fine distro.

walk carefully.
