[SimpleMail-usr] About CVS access (Was: Re: Joining the project)

Instead of trying to install CVS on my Amiga, I've installed it on
my Linux machine (more appropriate to Unix stuff BTW).
I'm stuck on how to start. I would like the local file to be in
<homedir>/cvsroot so, for SimpleMail, the files would be stored in
~/cvsroot/simplemail
What should the command line look like ?
