Hi All

A letter was sent out from Ian Gates (Managing Director of Capita
Software Services) to IBS customers earlier this week explaining that
the Competition Commission have instructed Capita to sell the IBS
Revenues and Benefits division. Following the receipt of this letter I
contacted John McLaren to clarify what the ramifications of this might
be. He explained that the Revenues & Benefits arm of IBS has always
operated as a discrete entity and that as such it's sale will not impact
on IBS Open Housing in any significant way. For one thing the Revenues
and Benefits occupy a different building to Open Housing. John has said
that there are a number of interested parties in buying Revenues and
Benefits and that it is hoped the sale can be conducted quickly.
Obviously if you have any specific concerns please contact John McLaren
directly. Otherwise please come along to the next SIBSUG meeting, to be
held at our offices in Edinburgh on 3 September, at which an update on
the situation will be provided by Martyn Rees & John McLaren, both of
whom will be in attendance.

Regards
