Dan, I have forgotten how to turn an already written voice into another. For example, I have written a couple of bars and suddenly decide, that this should become voice two. The recommended method for entering notes into a specific voice is this: 1. Navigate to the place where you want to start inputting notes. 2. Press the letter N (for November). 3. Hold down the alt key and press the number of the voice that you want to enter notes into. 4. Enter notes in the normal way. So, to create a passage where a whole note is held by the thumb whilst the outer fingers play shorter notes, you would do the following: 1. Navigate to where the shorter notes begin. 2. Press the letter N. 3. Press Alt+1. 4. Input the shorter notes in the usual way. 5. Navigate to where the whole note begins. 6. Press the letter N. 7. Press Alt+2. 8. Input the whole note in the usual way. This may seem more complicated than the other method but there are two extremely important points to make. 1. This method allows you to enter more than one note into the lower voice. 2. This 8 step method is in fact the same 4 step method repeated twice. Compare steps 1-4 with steps 5-8 and you'll see this. One last point. It is extremely important that you press N to start note input before pressing Alt+2. If you don't, you will move a voice 1 note into voice 2. As you may already know, you can have four voices on each staff, so here is what the message said. Hello, it seams, that you want to write a second voice in one bar. If I understood you right, then do the following: 1. write the whole note 2, select it and press alt + 2 (this will move the note to voice too.) 3. After that press alt + shift + up arrow, so that you get back to the first voice 4. Now you can write the shorter notes. Hope this helps. Conventional ways aren't working. If I wanted to input a piano piece, I'm assuming that staff b is left hand and A is right hand. Not sure that's right but I'll go with that for now since that's not my actual question. How can I have the left hand play different valued notes. Example would be a whole note with four quarter notes together.
