You can press Alt + Shift + 4 to make what Sibelius calls "beat" and Alt +
Shift + 3 to make a "beat without stem". It should be a B4 beat or B4 beat
without stem.

Hi all,
How do you make the slash marks within the staff on every quarter note beat,
such as used in jazz or pop music to fill bars under chord symbols for
improv?
They should look like slash marks, almost all the time with no stems, but
once in a while you might need to stem and beam together a couple of eighth
note slashes to position a chord symbol on an offbeat, so if you could tell
me how to do that, too, thanks.
