I would like to make a couple of tiny but important changes to the way Sib
Access speaks info. On the default preset on my laptop it seems to default to
reading chords from the top note down, I want it to read the pitches from the
bottom note of the chord up, and I want to change the order of the
announcements so the rhythm info is spoken before the pitch info, that will
save me a lot of time since I can hear the pitch being played by Sibelius. Many
years ago on my desktop I was able to customize a preset by going into the
verbosity settings and adjusting the checkboxes, but I am not succeeding with
the laptop. There is an OK button and a Save button, and a combo box of presets
including a modified (which has the entire order of announcements box greyed
out), default, and some other presets that came with Sib Access. I tried
reading the documentation and tried different combinations of whether I should
press OK or Save at different points, etc., but my changes never seem to get
saved beyond the current session. I try saving it and giving it a name, but it
never gets added to the combo list on a new bootup. Changes to the modified
preset are also not sticking. I apologize for re-asking this question which i
asked two months ago but I am really stumped how to make this work so if anyone
else has successfully customized the order of announcements and had it work the
next day after a boot up, please let me know how you did it, or if you're
willing to do a Jaws tandem session with me offlist to troubleshoot, my email
is below.
