There's certainly going to be a performance issue with regard RAM and
processor speed, so using Sibelius on such a machine with JAWS may be
frustrating. Best to try before you buy.

try to remedy that situation.

OK. That makes sense. I still don't know, though, how open the platform is,
to running other software.

Dale
They haven't a cd player, so you have to attach one separately to install
software.

Patricia and All,

Aren't NetBooks somewhat made to be incapable of receiving installation of
one's own software? I thought part of their portability and so forth was
that they are equipped for surfing the internet, perhaps word processing,
etc., but that they would not necessarily have the versatility of a laptop.
If I'm wrong, I will accept enlightening. <smile>

Hi Patricia
You should have Windows 7 64 bit. Jaws11 or higher is my recommendation. If
your machine will have a real numpad, would be great. But then the machine
of course is bigger. Often you find machines with a kind of virtual numpad;
a key that switches a part of your normal keyboard to numpad or normal keys.
Another way to go is to buy a separate numpad block. It's up to you to see
what you prefer. It depends, if you want to work while in a train or plain
or sitted at a normal table.
Regards
Claudio

experience: I am thinking of buying a netbook for traveling. I would need to
have off course, Jaws and Sibelius with SibAccess. Could someone tell me
what are the specifications I should consider to ensure that Jaws and
Sibelius with SibAccess can run smoothly on a netbook?

Thanks,
