Dave,
It's still 6. I can get that solution out far faster than anything for 8 and
it will offer much better accessibility in most areas of the program. It may
be that users will need to run 6 and 8 so that things which are impossible
in 8 can be done in 6 and transferred across.
6 does work in Windows 10.

Chris,
I have kept my DAW running Windows XP specifically so that I can continue to
use Sonar 7 and Sibelius 5 and 6, and BIAB 2014. Upgrading to Windows 7
alone would have forced me to update Sonar and possibly Sound Forge at a
cost that I just never thought appropriate. Yes, I know I'm a dinosaur but
for my needs, those versions are still relevant and useful. At this
moment, I use JAWS 12 and 13 to run Sibelius 5 and 6 respectively, since the
current scripts are more consistent with those versions. Any version of JAWS
higher than 15 will not run on an XP Op Sys so scripts for higher versions
would mean I get no upgrade benefit from Dan's current project.
Dan, I'm still presuming you're working on Sib 6 scripts, or have you
abandoned that effort?

oh, good point! Dan, any thoughts on this?
I hope my recent upgrade hasn't shut me out of Sibelius entirely. *sigh*

I think you should support 16 17, 18, and 2018. I've moved on from
Windows 7 to Windows 10, so those are the only Jaws versions I can use now.

All,
I need to make a final decision on which JAWS versions to support.
Maintaining a large number of versions is time consuming because of all
the
differences that need to be taken into account but I don't want to
arbitrarily exclude too many people. I will have to draw a line somewhere
though. I can definitely go back to JFW 13 but after that it starts to
get
unmanageable. If it turns out that a large number of people are using old
versions of JAWS for Sibelius and other screen-readers for everything
else
then I may consider a different approach. I'd like to get a better sense
of
what people are using and what I need to support before making a
decision.
