SI folks,
I would like to introduce a new web-based transmission line
simulator. The application uses standard HTML format for all of its
input and output, requiring only a web browser and internet
connection to access it. The software does not require any personal
or login information and is free to use. Just go to (
http://www.tlinesim.com ) from your web browser and start simulating
away!
The tool enables the user to concatenate various 2-port
linear devices in-line and perform a number of simulations, using
either a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), bit-pattern generator, or
waveform generator. The results can be viewed using the VNA, an
Oscilloscope, or a Spectrum analyzer. Some of the devices available
are: coax/microstrip/stripline transmission lines, ideal transmission
lines and stubs, ladder network of RLC components, and 2-port S-
parameter data (which the user uploads from their computer).
This project started as an experiment to see whether or not
these simulations could be effectively performed on a standard web
server. The software is fairly young in its development, but already
has a lot of functionality and there much more to come. The target
application is for educational purposes; however, the powerful
features and simple user interface allow the user to do much more.
If you find the tool useful, please provide some feedback. Thanks
for your time.
