I've rented a TDR/VNA on a few occasions to do impedance and return loss
measurements and it is money well spent.

If you care about the result, buy a network analyzer. They are NOT
expensive and have many uses beyond Impedance. If you want to be an engineer
you need to have the basic tool and a VNA is even more valuable than a scope
in some cases.

That or hire someone to do the measurement for you.

Subject: [SI-LIST] Impedance measurement

I am looking to measure impedance of a trace on a PCB. What is the simplest
way to do. I neither have TDR nor the network analyzer. I am looking for a
crude method of measuring it. Please, suggest ways of doing it.
